Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide on June 14 is being investigated by the Mumbai police and this week, it is likely that filmmaker Karan Johar will record his statement. ANI shared on Twitter quoting Mumbai police, “Filmmaker Karan Johar’s (in file photo) statement will be recorded this week in the Sushant Singh Rajput case: Mumbai Police”. Earlier it was reported that Apoorva Mehta, the CEO of Dharma Productions has also received a summon from the Mumbai police.

On Sunday, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had said in a statement, “In 1-2 days Mahesh Bhatt’s statement will be taken. Then under CrPC Kangana Ranaut has also been summoned. Whoever is needed we will summon.” Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt had recorded his statement today at the Santacruz police station. According to Zoom, the filmmaker had revealed in his statement that he had no intention of casting Sushant in any of his films and that there was no talk about working with him in ‘Sadak 2’.

The Mumbai police have till now recorded statements of over 30 people in the ongoing investigation. Sushant’s family members, his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty as well as filmmakers Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Chopra and Rumy Jaffery have already been interrogated.
