In the upcoming fourth instalment of the ‘Thor’ franchise, directed by Taika Waititi, the actress will assume the role of the mighty God of Thunder and will even wield the hammer.
In a candid Instagram chat with Serena Williams, Natalie spilled the beans about her character and clarified, “She’s actually The Mighty Thor. The comics had the female Thor when Jane becomes Thor, and she’s The Mighty Thor.”
The film, initially set for a November 2021 release, has now been postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis around the world. Shedding some light about the new schedule, the Oscar-winning actress said, “We haven’t started. More time to get jacked. Which I have not. I’ve got the carbo-loading down, but not the exercise part.”
Natalie also went on to share that she is “very excited” to get cracking on the new film, but even more pumped to see if she can gain muscle mass, she quipped.
“Obviously everything is weird because of pandemic time, who knows what’s happening. It will be exciting and I’m interested to see if I can gain muscle.”
Although she now assumes the role of a goddess, she revealed that her favourite Marvel character is in fact Tessa Thompson‘s ‘Valkyrie’, who will also play a major role in the upcoming film.
“Major love for that woman,” she said while talking about Tessa.
According to Portman, ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is now set to roll out in Australia, in early 2021. It will see Chris Hemsworth return as Thor and will also have former ‘Dark Knight’ star Christian Bale playing the villain.
